ZDI-26-762: X.Org Server GLX RenderLarge Heap-based Buffer Overflow Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of X.Org Server. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The ZDI has assigned a CVSS rating of 7.8. The following CVEs are assigned: CVE-2026-93517.
No CVSS 3.x base score yet. Since April 2026 NVD only enriches priority CVEs (KEV, federal and critical software), so most CVEs are scored only if the assigning CNA included a score in the CVE record, or by GHSA for open-source packages. Last record update .
For interim severity, fall back on KEV / EXPLOIT signals and the EPSS percentile (lower panel). Re-check this CVE after one cron tick — the score lands automatically when the source publishes.
FIRST.org publishes EPSS daily. Coverage isn't universal — pre-disclosure CVEs and reserved IDs don't carry an EPSS score until at least one exploitation signal lands. Score will appear within 24 hours of the next EPSS pull.
No VEX statements published for CVE-2026-93517. Vendors publish VEX (Vulnerability Exploitability eXchange) to assert per-product whether a CVE is actually exploitable in their distribution.
